Terms of Use and Sale — FA6LIT
Version 1.0 — 17 September 2026
This is a translation. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Purpose and publisher
FA6LIT is an Android app that replaces the phone's home screen with a simple one: big cards (Call, Messages, Contacts, Gallery, Weather…), a "Speak" button to control the phone by voice, new messages displayed and read aloud, and help always within reach. It is designed for seniors and for people who are reluctant to use smartphones.
These terms govern downloading, trying, buying and using the app, as well as visiting the fa6lit.com website.
The publisher is Géry ROTSAERT EI, a sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) registered with the Lyon Trade and Companies Register (SIRET 399 538 172 00020, RCS Lyon), VAT not applicable under art. 293 B of the French General Tax Code, EU VAT number FR78399538172, 1 quai Maréchal Joffre, 69002 Lyon, France, +33669142066, contact contact@fa6lit.com.
Publication director: Géry ROTSAERT. Host of the website and licence service: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, +1 650 319 8930, www.cloudflare.com.
2. What FA6LIT is not
- FA6LIT is not an emergency service, nor a medical device, nor a remote-care service. Nobody is watching behind the app. In an emergency, call your country's emergency number (112 in the European Union, 911 in the United States).
- FA6LIT does not replace Android. Calls, text messages, emails, photos and alarms remain those of the phone's own apps (Phone, Messages, WhatsApp, Gmail…): FA6LIT opens them, presents them more simply and reads their notifications. Those apps remain subject to their own terms.
- FA6LIT cannot lock the phone. Android always keeps some settings and the notification shade accessible; FA6LIT brings you back to its home screen, it does not prevent leaving it.
- Voice recognition and the reading voice are Android's. They depend on the phone, its language and sometimes an Internet connection. FA6LIT does not guarantee that a sentence will be understood.
- FA6LIT only calls someone when you ask it to. When you say "Call Mary", the app shows and says aloud the name of the contact it recognised, gives you three seconds to cancel with a big red button, then starts the call. Check the announced name: voice recognition can make mistakes. It never sends an email or message for you: it only opens a blank message, which you write and send yourself.
3. What the app does on your phone
Read this article before installing FA6LIT on your phone or on a loved one's phone. It lists everything the app can do. Each access is requested once, when it is needed, with an explanation. You may refuse it: only the feature concerned is then unavailable.
- Become the home screen. The Home button and phone start-up open FA6LIT. You can return to the original home screen at any time, from the "Help" screen or Android's settings.
- Read notifications (notification access, which you turn on yourself): to show missed calls, text messages, WhatsApp messages and emails on the home screen, with the sender's name and the start of the message, and to reply to them. This content is read on the phone, displayed, then forgotten: FA6LIT does not store it and does not send it anywhere.
- Read contacts: to find the number of the person you name aloud. The list is neither copied nor sent.
- Make calls (Phone permission): only when you ask by voice to call someone, after the name has been announced and the three seconds to cancel. Say "on speaker" for the call to start on speakerphone. If refused, FA6LIT only prepares the number and you tap the green button.
- Open a new email or message addressed to the contact you name ("Write an email to Mary"): nothing is sent without you.
- Set the alarm on the phone's clock at the time you say ("Wake me up at 7").
- Approximate location (city level, never precise location): only on the Weather screen, to show the weather where you are. If refused, the weather still works by searching for the town.
- Read aloud the time, battery level, messages, emails and missed calls, using the phone's voice.
- Show the list of installed apps, for the "Apps" screen and for the cards that open an app (WhatsApp, SOSBY, Play Store…).
FA6LIT does not request the microphone (Android's voice recognition holds it itself), precise location, access to stored text messages or the call log, or the accessibility service.
4. Installing FA6LIT for a loved one
FA6LIT is often installed and set up by a child, a spouse or a carer. In that case:
- The person who uses the phone must be informed and agree. Installing FA6LIT on someone's phone without their knowledge, or in order to read their messages, is prohibited by these terms and may be a criminal offence.
- The person installing it undertakes to explain to the user what the app does, in particular that it displays and reads their messages aloud on the home screen.
- Messages displayed on the home screen are visible to anyone looking at the phone's screen: it is up to each person to judge whether that is desirable.
5. Trial, price and purchase
- A fifteen-day free trial, with all features, starting from the first time the app is opened on a phone. No bank card is required.
- After that, full use of FA6LIT requires a one-time purchase, at the price shown on Google Play at the time of purchase, taxes included. There is no subscription: nothing is charged afterwards, and there is nothing to cancel.
- The purchase is made and paid through Google Play, under Google's terms. The publisher never receives your bank details.
- The purchase is tied to the Google account that made it: it is restored automatically if you reinstall FA6LIT or change phones with the same account. A single purchase covers at most three phones on that Google account (yours, a replacement, a spouse's); beyond that, a new purchase is required.
- Without a purchase at the end of the trial, the phone can still be used to call: the Call card, calling a contact by voice ("Call Mary") and emergency calls are never blocked; Help and the SOSBY card stay open. FA6LIT's other features are replaced by a screen inviting you to unlock the app.
- The trial counts once per phone: uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not restart it (see the privacy policy, section 2).
6. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you normally have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance purchase. For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, this right can no longer be exercised once the unlock has taken place, if you expressly requested immediate performance and acknowledged losing this right (art. L. 221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code); this request is presented to you at the time of purchase. The fifteen-day free trial lets you fully test the app before paying.
Google Play's refund rules also apply.
7. Licence
The publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use FA6LIT on the phones linked to your Google account, up to three phones per purchase, for private use. You may not copy, modify, redistribute or resell the app, bypass its licence check, or decompile it, except within the limits permitted by law (art. L. 122-6-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code).
The FA6LIT name, logo, texts and look belong to the publisher.
8. Legal guarantees
If you are a consumer, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (art. L. 224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code): in the event of a lack of conformity, you can obtain that the app be brought into conformity or, failing that, a price reduction or cancellation of the sale. Write to contact@fa6lit.com.
Updates needed to keep the app in conformity are provided free of charge for the period required by law. FA6LIT runs on Android 8 or later; an Android version or phone model on which the app could no longer run is not a defect of the app if it was announced before the purchase.
9. What you agree not to do
- Install or use FA6LIT to read another person's messages without their consent.
- Bypass the trial, the licence check or the app's protections.
- Use the app or the website in a way that disrupts their operation.
10. Personal data
FA6LIT creates no account and collects almost nothing. What it does collect is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
11. Liability
The publisher has an obligation of means (best efforts). It is not liable for damage resulting from a cause outside its control: operation or settings of the phone and Android, manufacturer restrictions, third-party apps (Phone, Messages, WhatsApp, Gmail…), Google services, the mobile network or the Internet, the weather service, an error by Android's voice recognition when the announced name was not checked, or force majeure.
It remains liable for its own failings under ordinary law. No clause limits its liability in the event of gross negligence, fraud, or personal injury. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms reduces the rights the law guarantees you.
12. Languages
These terms are available in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Filipino. In case of discrepancy between two versions, the French version prevails, without prejudice to the rights you hold under the law of your country of residence.
13. Changes
Any substantial change is announced in the app or on fa6lit.com before it applies. It never calls into question a purchase already made.
14. Governing law and disputes
French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought by writing to contact@fa6lit.com. Failing that, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge (article L. 612-1 of the French Consumer Code): CM2C (Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice), 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris – https://www.cm2c.net – contact@cm2c.net – +33 1 89 47 00 14. You may also bring the matter before the competent court.
